Official Rules

1. Sponsor

The CITYWIN North Carolina Matching Prize Sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) is sponsored by CityPressMedia.Com, INC. DBA LOCAL City Places, 3133 W. Frye Road, STE 101, Chandler, AZ 85226 USA (the “Sponsor”), operator of LOCAL City Places.

2. Eligibility

Open only to legal residents of North Carolina who are at least 18 years old at the time of entry. Void where prohibited.

Employees of the Sponsor, its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies and suppliers, and their immediate family members and those living in the same household, are not eligible.

3. Sweepstakes periods

Each calendar month is a separate Sweepstakes period with its own drawing. A period starts at 12:00 AM on the first day of the month and ends at 11:59 PM on the last day of the month, North Carolina time. Entries must be received by the end of the period.

4. How to enter

Enter online at https://www.localnorthcarolinaplaces.com/citywin/enter by providing the information requested and confirming with the link emailed to you, or in your LOCAL Insider account with the daily Enter button. The daily entry is free and needs nothing else: no testimonial, post or purchase.

Testimonial entries: a member who has accepted these Official Rules for the month earns one entry for each testimonial of at least 50 words about their own experience with a local business that they submit in that month and that is approved, up to five per month, in the drawing for their own state. A testimonial is reviewed only for authenticity and the community guidelines; whether it is positive or negative does not affect approval or the entry.

Streak entries: entering on five days in a row earns three bonus entries, and so does every fifth day of the same run (the 10th, 15th and so on). Missing a day starts a new run. A run continues from one month into the next; the bonus entries go to the drawing for the month of the day that completes the five.

Pet Peeve entries: a member who has accepted these Official Rules for the month also earns one entry for their first Pet Peeve each day that is approved and published on LOCAL City Places PET PEEVES (www.localcityplaces.com/PetPeeves), in the drawing for their own state. No testimonial is needed for this entry. Every Pet Peeve is checked against the community guidelines before it publishes; whether it is positive or negative, or names a business, does not affect approval or the entry. A Pet Peeve entry counts only while that Pet Peeve stays published: one removed by a moderator or deleted by its author no longer counts. Staff posts do not earn entries.

Limit one daily entry and one Pet Peeve entry per person per day, and five testimonial entries per person per month. Entering more often by using multiple email addresses, identities or devices, or by automated means, voids all of that person’s entries.

Each direct referral who confirms their first eligible entry in a month gives the referring member one bonus entry in their own state’s drawing, if that state is taking entries. The referring member must accept the Official Rules in that drawing month; no testimonial is needed. They can accept the rules for referral bonuses without submitting a daily entry. A signup alone does not earn a bonus; indirect referrals do not earn bonus entries. Every eligible daily, testimonial, streak, Pet Peeve or bonus entry is one equal chance.

Entering creates a FREE LOCAL Insider account and you will receive emails from LOCAL City Places. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in any email; unsubscribing does not affect your entries.

5. Prize

One grand prize is awarded in each period: the winner’s choice of a $1,000 SHOP LOCAL City Places gift card or $500 cash. Approximate retail value: $1,000.

Prizes are non-transferable. No substitution except at the Sponsor’s discretion. The winner is responsible for all federal, state and local taxes.

6. Matching prize

If the grand prize winner first joined LOCAL Insider through another member’s referral link, that direct referrer receives a matching prize. If the direct referrer was also referred, their referrer receives the second-level matching prize. Each is their own choice of a $1,000 SHOP gift card or $500 cash. Both recipients must meet the eligibility requirements in section 2; their own entry is not required.

The referral relationships recorded when the members joined, and saved when the winner first entered that month, determine the two matching levels. A member cannot refer themselves or receive both matching prizes in the same drawing. A referral does not guarantee a win.

7. Weekly entry prizes

Each week, from 12:00 AM Monday to 11:59 PM Sunday Arizona time, the three members with the most eligible entries earned that week across every LOCAL City Places state win a SHOP LOCAL gift card: $25 for first place, $10 for second and $5 for third. Every kind of entry in section 4 counts, in the week it is earned. A tie goes to the member who reached that number of entries first.

Weekly prizes are separate from the monthly drawing and do not affect anyone's entries or chances in it. The weekly leaderboard shows first name, last initial, city and state.

8. Odds

The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received in the period. Each eligible entry is one equal chance. No purchase is necessary, and a purchase does not increase the chances of winning.

9. Winner selection and notification

The winner is selected in a random drawing from all eligible entries after each period ends, under the supervision of the Sponsor.

Winners are notified by email within five (5) days of the drawing. A winner who cannot be contacted, is ineligible, or does not claim the prize within fifteen (15) days of notification, or who fails to return any required declaration and release, forfeits the prize, and an alternate winner may be selected.

10. Publicity

Except where prohibited by law, accepting a prize grants the Sponsor permission to use the winner’s name, likeness, city and entry for advertising and promotion without further compensation.

11. General conditions

By entering, participants agree to these Official Rules and to the Sponsor’s decisions, which are final. The Sponsor may cancel, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes if fraud, technical failures or other causes beyond its control affect its fairness or administration, and may disqualify anyone who tampers with the entry process.

12. Limitation of liability

Participants release the Sponsor and its affiliates, agencies, partners and their employees from any liability arising from participation in the Sweepstakes or acceptance or use of a prize, and from technical failures, unauthorized intervention or errors in administering the Sweepstakes.

13. Disputes

The Sweepstakes is governed by the laws of the United States and Arizona, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes are resolved individually, without class actions, in a court located in Arizona.

14. Privacy

Information submitted with an entry is subject to the LOCAL City Places Privacy Policy.

15. Winners list

For the names of the winners, contact LOCAL City Places within 60 days after the end of the period.

16. Not affiliated with social platforms

The Sweepstakes is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn or Google.
