Peoria Events, November 2026 to February 2027: Holiday Stages, 2nd Saturdays and Spring Training

Peoria's cooler months fill up fast. Between now and the end of February, downtown hosts its monthly arts night and a holiday festival, two stages put on a Dickens classic and a Dr. Seuss musical, the city moves its Martin Luther King Jr. celebration to a new park, and the Peoria Sports Complex goes from fall prospects to the first spring training game of 2027.

Every date below comes from the organizer's own page. Plans change, especially for outdoor events, so check the listed page before you head out.

November: arts night and a championship

Peoria's 2nd Saturdays returns to Downtown Peoria on November 14. The free monthly festival takes over 83rd Avenue between Washington and Jefferson streets with local art, live music, artisan vendors and hands-on activities, and it runs on the second Saturday of each month through April. The Monastery AZ, the gallery at 8301 W. Washington Street, keeps its doors open during 2nd Saturdays, and artists paint live in the Peoria Mural Garden behind it.

The same day, the Peoria Sports Complex hosts the Arizona Fall League Championship, the last game of a season that has brought prospects from the Mariners, Padres and other clubs to the Peoria Javelinas.

If you'd rather be on a trail, the city's park rangers lead free outdoor classes through the fall, including an Intro to Hiking on November 14 and a Neon Night Hike on November 27, both for ages 6 and up. Registration and meeting places are on the city's enrichment listings.

In the P83 district, Arizona Broadway Theatre opens Miracle on 34th Street on November 20. The dinner theatre's holiday production runs through December 27.

December: holiday stages and a festival downtown

TheaterWorks brings back A Christmas Carol at the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts from December 4 through December 20. The December 5 evening performance is ASL-interpreted.

Families who want to learn to fish can head to Paloma Community Park on December 5 for Get Hooked: Family Fishing Day, a free morning of casting lessons, gear basics and conservation booths for ages 5 and up.

On December 12, 2nd Saturdays and the Peoria Holiday Festival share Downtown Peoria. The free evening promises lights, food and craft vendors, entertainment and a visit from Santa, and the city says the stage lineup, vendor list and event map will be posted as the date gets closer. Driftwood Coffee on Jefferson Street and Caldwell County BBQ on Washington Street are both a short walk from the festival blocks if you want to arrive early.

On December 16, the city's holiday concert features the Phoenix Brass Collective playing seasonal favorites at the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts. The evening also marks the center's 20th anniversary. Tickets are sold through TheaterWorks.

January: world music and a celebration of unity

2nd Saturdays continues downtown on January 9.

The city's free Global Sounds concert series begins its 2027 season at the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts on January 13, with music and performance traditions from around the world. Admission is free, and the city encourages reserving a seat. Later concerts fall on February 10, March 3, April 21 and May 19, with performers still to be announced.

Unity in Peoria, the city's celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., moves to Osuna Park for 2027. The free afternoon on Saturday, January 16, brings music, art, cultural experiences and family activities to the city's oldest park, beside the performing arts center downtown.

Arizona Broadway Theatre opens My Fair Lady on January 15, running through February 21.

February: Seussical and the first pitch

TheaterWorks' Seussical, with Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat and the Whos of Whoville, plays the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts from February 5 through February 21. The February 13 evening performance is ASL-interpreted, and the same night 2nd Saturdays fills the street outside.

Spring training starts on Friday, February 19, when the San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners open the Cactus League schedule against each other at the Peoria Sports Complex. The Padres play their first home game on February 20 against the Arizona Diamondbacks, and 18 of their 31 spring games are in Peoria. The complex opened in 1994 as the first Major League spring training facility shared by two teams.

Before you go

Dates for 2nd Saturdays, the Holiday Festival, the holiday concert, Global Sounds and Unity in Peoria are on the City of Peoria's special events pages. TheaterWorks and Arizona Broadway Theatre list every performance on their own sites, and the Padres and the Peoria Sports Complex post spring training schedules and tickets. The Peoria Main Library and Sunrise Mountain Library close on November 11 for Veterans Day, so plan library visits around it.

With a free festival nearly every month, a winter in Peoria can be planned around one downtown Saturday at a time.
