Hotel "resort fees" that only show up at checkout
Booked a room for what looked like a fair price, then got hit with a daily resort fee for a pool I never used. How do you find the real price before you book?

Finding a surprise fee at checkout is frustrating, especially for amenities you never touched.
- Worth trying Before booking, look for a line about mandatory fees or taxes on the final payment page, and compare the total for your full stay, not the nightly rate.
For this, it’s best to ask your state attorney general’s consumer protection line.
